We have stayed here 3 times, but this time our experience was not as good, only because I booked a budget room and didn't realise we were road side and below the road, so the window could not be open, and no access to fresh air or the outside. Not their fault. We have no complaints about staff cleanliness and everything else you expect. Its a great place but dont go budget.

This trip was our first to Istanbul and we can say that it was the perfect holiday from start-to-finish. Much credit must go to our hosts at the Ferman Hotel who were always friendly and willing to help, constantly on hand to answer our questions or expertly advise as to what to see, where to go, how to get there and all done so with genuine enthusiasm and deep knowledge. The hotel was ideal and very comfortable with such appealing Ottoman traces together with modern comforts (extremely comfortable beds) to create a timelessly uplifting point from which to explore the amazing city of Istanbul. The maps and Melling art (Vedute of Constantinople) on display were especially interesting for me - I loved seeing those. Located in Sultanahmet, many precious sites are easily reachable on foot as are numerous places to eat. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace is truly an experience in itself, with a sumptuous selection to enjoy while taking in the breathtaking panoramic scene that includes the Blue Mosque and Bosporus below - especially stunning at sunrise. (Such scenes are among the very best in the world.) The pleasingly warm and welcoming atmosphere of the Ferman Hotel is something that really imprints on the visitor and remains after leaving - this is very high praise indeed. The Ferman Hotel will unquestionably add much to any holiday and we will definitely be returning there again in the not too distant future - I recommend staying there to anyone who wants to visit such a fascinating and wonderful city. (PS: Istanbul, too, has so much to discover - it adds colour to new words you will begin to speak after visiting, which is a lovely feeling.)

This was our hotel for short overnight stay between flights and also base for short sightseeing of major Istanbul attractions. Selection criterious was simple - family room + location close to "everything", so you don't need extra commute. Hotel is one of many in old area, some refers to as "Sultanahmet". Location is probably best feature of this hotel - it takes 5-7 minutes of slow walk to reach Haghia Sophia or Sultanhmet square. Taxi from IST cost around 1000 TL night time. Please be sure taking taxi on street from this area that taximeter is on, and driver is not proposing "shorter route" in exhange of additional 500 TL or smth. I am frequent visitor to this city, and noticed taxi's particular in this area trying to take advantage on tourists. Room was large, has small balcony, didn't tested neither heating no cooling, water pressure and temperature was OK. Breakfast served on roof top "restaurant", you can see Bosphorus on one side, and towers of Sophia on another. Must be mind-blowing view sitting outside in summer time, either morning or evening... Breakfast was small, but in reasonable quality. Public facilities in on 5th floor, so if you waiting in reception, need to take only one elevator they have. Please keep in mind it's ONLY steps to reach roof-top breakfast facility from elevator on last floor. Overall hotel provided premium location at good price/quality. Highly recommend.

The hotel is in the middle of the old city of Istanbul. We were able to have a fabulous breakfast on the roof top of the hotel and then we met with a full day tour guide that easily brought to all the old city sites, the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, the Grand Bazaar, the Hippodrome with German Fountain and ‎Obelisk of Theodosius, ‎Serpent Column, and ‎Walled Obelisk. Also near by was the Topkapi Palace Museum and all of these were in walking distance of the Ferman Hotel Old City. It was very quaint, walking the old city cobble stone narrow streets. The hotel is a boutique hotel that caters to their visitors, helping us with tours, taxi's and really anything you might want or need. The concierges' always had great advice for us. The entire staff was very friendly, very helpful and they all speak english. The breakfast was fantastic serving an array of dishes, meats, breads, sweets, along with traditional breakfast items of eggs and sausages with potatoes with a plethora of choices. You will not be disappointed. All in all, this is a fantastic small hotel with very clean rooms and bathrooms that is near all of the sites in the old city. They are literally within site and an easy walk to them. Our room had a king bed and a twin with fantastic balcony that looked over the new city as well as the Bosporus Strait. It was a fantastic room and we really enjoyed our stay in Istanbul. It has an elevator to access your rooms and it has a stair case to access the roof top breakfast area, which is not a hard climb. I would choose Ferman Hotel when I return to Istanbul.

After being delayed from our flight and our luggage not showing up, the staff was so great and helpful. We only had a day and a half before jumping on a cruise ship and instead of us staying at the hotel and calling and following up with the airline Omer told us to go see Istanbul, he’d call every couple of hours and gave us up to the minute updates. We truly wouldn’t have enjoyed any of Istanbul if it wasn’t for Omer. His service didn’t stop there though. When we knew our luggage was hopeless for showing up he recommended places to shop on a short notice so we could buy what we needed. When we were on the cruise and having trouble communicating with the airline Omer was still communicating with them on our behalf and got our bags back safe to the USA. Truly a disastrous start to a vacation was made better by Omer and the service at this hotel. I would highly recommend!!! And the view and food at breakfasts isn’t bad either 😉
